Tradition prob says safe (tie goes to the runner), but in reality and rule wise there are no ties in baseball - so ultimately it's umpires discretion.

I will have to double check - really don't feel like it - but from my time as a Teenage Umpire™ (which was like 20 years ago), I think the rule is written like "the runner has to beat the ball to the bag". So "tie goes to the runner" actually gets it backwards.

Biggio and Bo have both been subpar on D so far this year. I'll trust Bichette to get it together, but Cavan definitely on shaky ground out there.
