OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Whit hitting leadoff is just preparing for the new rule where you can steal 1B.

Otherwise, I know we say this every year, but this off-season should be a good time to make a push. The team loses nobody but Stripling as a FA, and while obviously all the young guys will need raises, nobody else really jumps in salary, and a couple guys like Kikuchi and Springer even drop in salary (although I guess for CBT purpose they still average their deals). You even gain back a lot of salary after the season with Ryu, Chapman, and Teo as pending FA, although obviously you to spend something to replace them.

But yeah, the team needs to make more deals like the Chapman deal. Grab someone who fills a solid role at a relatively cheap price. Or they should have been all in on deals like the Braves sniping Iglesias. Give me an underrated useful player while only giving up depth prospects please anyday.

we're signing Jackie Bradley.

guess that means bye bye Zimmer.

i've always hated the not-better-than-pillar bradley, btw.

Well, Zimmer is a Garbage Dump Fire at the plate while JBJ is ONLY a Dumpster Fire at the plate. I guess that is an upgrade?

Zimmer: 86 pa, .452 ops, 29 ops+, 28 wRC+, -0.3fWAR
JBJ: 290pa, .578 ops, 59 ops+, 58 wRC+, -0.4fWAR

JBJ is a better hitter, while Zimmer is a better Fielder. Zimmer this year in CF = 2 drs, while JBJ in CF = -2drs

I think I would stick with Zimmer as he is faster and a better fielder (this year).
