OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

I had my personal list of jays top 10 prospects looking like this a couple months ago here:

1. Tiedemann
2. Orelvis

3. Nimmala
4. Barriera
5. Schneider

6. Barger
6. Roden
6. Jimenez
6. Bohrofen

10. Cooper
10. Dejesus
10. Palmegiani

Baseball America came out with their mpre toolsy top 10 today:

1. Tiedemann
2. Orelvis
3. Nimmala
4. Barriera
5. Barger
6. Rojas
7. Jimenez
8. Schneider
9. Roden
10. Cooke

So they include Rojas and Cooke and tbh i have a hard time seeing why.

I still prefer guys like Bohrofen, Dejesus, and Palmegiani over them.

Palmegiani is very real as a 1B/3B , kind of came out of nowhere last year as a legit power bat threat, and absolutely tore up the winter league too. He and Roden are legit possible options this year

Didn't we give Kikuchi a much bigger deal as the same thing really?
Kikuchi made the All-Star team in his last season in Seattle then fell apart the second half.

Severino looked like he forgot how to pitch for the entire season and has a really bad injury history.

I dont think they are comparable situations.

I saw Palmegiani play a bunch in Vancouver last summer and was not really a fan. The vibe he gives off is a less talented Brett Lawrie. Similar build, also very athletic, quite a bit more swing and miss.

Palmegiani is Canadian like Lawrie too, so probably pretty raw and it’s certainly possible he has turned a corner. I know he did well in AFL and in very limited time in AAA, but considering how not good he was in A-ball a year ago, I’m going to say he needs some more seasoning.

Oh probably, but i mean Davis Ruth or whatever his name is came out of nowhere. Parmagiano at least deserves to be on the radar

I very much struggle with the concept that the same org all in on Ohtani also non tendered their radio broadcaster for savings.

My gut, is that we are interested, but interested adjacent, and unlike Boston and Texas ( who have pulled out of Ohtani to pursue other things) we hang in there because it's more valuable for these guys to seem like they tried for Ohtani, than actually making a huge move.

to be clear, they will add, but im leaning a Soler, Candelario whatever kind of offseason rather than signing Ohtani, or surrendering the assets for Soto/Bregman.

I could see Bellinger, but man, he's terrifying, I'd rather bring back Chapman
