I'm partial to keeping the best prospects unless it's for a gamechanger add.

I'm not trading those guys for some reliever or fifth starter.
Some RP are gamechanger adds, and i'd be cool paying it.

The price for Duran though was insane, drains us. I dont actually know if i would want to do that.

The Dominguez deal is probably the best value deal for a RP so far, and there are alot of RP left on the market.

I think it was always a pipe dream that they could or should pay for a Duran/Miller price

Why am I getting deja vu about all of the reasonable sounding future plans you explain to me that the Jays have every free agent period? No, you see, it's no big deal that they didn't get this good guy or that other good guy because these other 4 guys are still on the market and surely we'll get one of them.

Dominguez is a good get, but this team has more holes than the record suggests and no, I don't think Shatkins will be aggressive enough in filling them.

I have zero doubt they get another RP, and a SP/Long man, the latter filling the same need.

I am doubtful that the RP is one of the top top names, and im also unsure if they should even be paying it.

I think they need a RHH, and i am doubtful they think they do.

Yes, I also agree that Shatkins is highly unlikely to be willing to pay the price necessary to upgrade the team enough to capitalize on this crazy stretch of play that has probably inflated our record a fair bit above the true talent level of the team.

FWIW the price Philly paid for Duran is basically Yesavage and Nimmala.

Who actually wants the team to do that?

I don't know is a fair answer
I am absolutely not trading both of those guys for a relief pitcher. We already have a closer, Philly did not.

I'm not trading BOTH of those guys, period.

We're not done making moves yet, and we have very good prospects available.

I would sell both of them in a heartbeat for the right return, namely Joe Ryan or Mackenzie Gore.

One of them (well, YeSavage) plus one of Orelvis/Khal/King/Kendry plus their pick of the low minors (2 guys) for Joe Ryan is absolutely a fair offer.
Adorable you think Orelvis has the same value as those SP.

And famously fair offers get teams to trade their controlled young SP at the deadline.

If and when Joe Ryan moves it will require an overpay, you are either cool with it or not, and it will take Trey and Arjun
