OT: Vacations

Looking at what to do next year when im on an extended leave from work.

Will have parents (70s), me, my wife, 3 year old and 1 year old on the trip. Looking at most or all of the mo th of november.

Started looking at the Algarve (tavira area). But any suggestions would be appreciated.

I loved Bologna. I think it might be a little chilly depending on when you go but it’s a world class food city and a quick high speed train away from Florence if you haven’t been there. Parma and Modena are close as well and worth a visit.

Mindz could speak to this more but I’ve heard November is the best time to visit Mexico City.

If you’re just looking for a beach vacation with a little sight seeing, Malta is supposed to be a great spot and seems to be super cheap lately.

We did all this a few years ago. Loved it. Food is… Off. The. Hook.

Impressive castle in Parma. Ferrari museum in Modena (though the main one is in nearby Maranello, if you have a car.) Central Bologna has a lot of arcades, sketchy but impressive medieval towers and great markets.

Tbh, I don't know if Mexico city is the play with 70+ parents and 2 toddlers in tow unless the parents were Spanish speaking and pretty active unto themselves. Merida, San Miguel or San Luis Potosi are probably the best non beach Mexico spots for that roster.

Yup. I did the Ferrari Museum tour in Maranello and also toured a Parmesan Farm and a Prosciutto farm and Balsamic vineyard in Modena. All were fantastic. I loved my time there.

Madeira is very nice you want peace and tranquility

I also lived out my fantasy of being carried by 6 sweaty Ecuadorian men when I severely sprained my ankle on a rocky trail on an uninhabited island. All in all 10/10 would do it again.

Sad day. X-Rays say I fractured the damn thing too. Off to the hospital to get a cast or boot.
 
You're going to have to work on the quality of that story now. "Rolled my ankle on galapagos island and fulfilled the first part of a gay fantasy" is fine for a sprain, but not for a fracture.
