Where in Muskoka?Off to Muskoka for a week (friend has a cottage on an island there). Packing Fat Tug, Electric Unicorn and some Becks (summer, eh), along with the Blood Oath bourbon (from the supply I hoarded before hoarding got all popular).
Was on Lake Muskoka. Awesome, fantastic time. The week started with a 25 year old single malt. Other friend on the trip is a chef ... holy **** did we eat well.
Outside of the wild rice and slaw, all on site. Pretty much everything cooked on an open fire. Guy grows most of the non-meat ingredients. Just unbelievably good.Pre-cooked or cook from scratch on site?

No canoeing. On an island and used a powerboat. I wanted to bring my canoe but, frankly, not a great lake for canoeing (entire shoreline populated with cottages).Beauty.
Canoe trip or just one site?
It costs pennies to make the pizza. Margins are huge so sales dont really need to be through the roof for them to survive. That plus most North Americans dont really give a shit about quality. They'd rather get cheap pizza at domino's or pizza pizza than spend the extra on something that doesn't taste like battery acid.Im honestly not sure how pizza chains exist? Everybody has a local spot or two that does it better than pizza pizza, dominos etc.
Pizza hut at least had the "pan pizza" and little ceasars has the crazy bread but the rest are just terrible
So a few months ago I defended dominoes pizza as passable. I just want to apologize to everyone here. That was the stupidest thing I've ever said and it's a long list. I picked up a free pizza today for the first time in over a decade. Flavorless dough, trash cheese and most importantly flavorless yet insanely acidic overpowering sauce. My mouth is raw and I didn't even finish the slice.
Sorry guys. It's still not Pizza Pizza bad but it's dreadful
I started making more cast iron pizza a few years ago so I haven't really had much out since then. I think that may have been the x-factor on why I was disgusted by my outing today. Having them relatively back to back was eye popping. I dont really understand why it's so hard for these places to make their sauce like 50 times less acidic. It's almost harder to get it that acidic. I understand why its flavorless. White people hate flavor or any sort of seasoning and you want to appeal to the masses with a chain. But does any fucking normal human being like acid for sauce? The toppings are consistently the only thing on these pizzas that are at least average.Yeah Dominos is gross. Fits in somewhere between pizza pizza and Little Cesar’s. Since I started making cast iron pizzas I have a hard time eating chain pizza outside of a quick snack at Nova or something
