i personally only wash one area of my body daily to save on water and soap. I thought that was normal??

Sure you are, but you’re probably not doing it frequently all day long, including immediately after meals. It’s a resting spot for bacteria and it rests around your mouth and nose.

But anyway, if you think it’s as clean as not having any hair in that area, that’s cool.
