never understood the fruit beer thing.
Oh I know. I just wanted to make it clear that my suspicions about sours being gay are correct. Macho men just wanted an excuse to drink delicious fruity goodness without being gay. I don't blame them for pretending sours are heterosexual.I didn't mean fruit in that context, I mean literal fruit. although you and zeke are totally gay, obviously.
as in, I do not understand the appeal of mixing beer with citrus for example. blecch.

my favourite pastime, back when I could afford it, was to go to the skydome and mix a Caesar with a tall cool Budweiser in a blue jays can. Caesar beers.
that's pretty genius. might make a bud drinkable.
But, it’s gotta be in a blue jays branded can.
Good way to make friends. Two caesars, split the tall boy.
I got a lot of sweetness in this one. It's even how the advertise the bevvy. But I will take your word on that not being the norm.actually sours (lambics, geuzes, etc) are sour, not sweet. and really strong.
super manly.

I liked this one because I found the sweetness created a nice balance - it was a bit more complex than something like a cider which is just pure sugar. I got the ciders for Mrs. Preston but I usually find those far too sweet to have more than a small half glass. But they're still a really tasty half glass of sugar with a side of alcohol. Call it a guilty pleasure. Its very sweet no doubt. They still manage to balance it ok but its sweeter than I like. They have others which are just too sweet. But they also have some dry hopped sours which aren't overly sweet which I like better.
If you think you like sours enough that you don't need a lot of sweet in it then there are a couple very good (but expensive) local ones getting more availability lately - the classic Jelly King by Bellwoods and the new Oak Grove by Bench.

Sweet is good if it complements the other flavors and creates a beautiful harmony in your mouth. I'm interested in trying the guava gose because on paper, the balance between the sweet, sour and salty sounds fucking delightful. I feel like that one has the higher potential but the sweet/sour nature of this tangerine bevvy is beautiful too. Highly recommended.

I'm easing my way in with gay fruity shit for now.
