I thought the Young Republicans is a social group, and looking it up to be sure now, that is all it is. Am I supposed to be shocked that there are a bunch of assholes in there? How is it different than any other, and isn’t there a Democrat equivalent saying the exact same things, or do we just call them the Free Palestine folks and not worry about it?
We knew there were Neo nazis out there. And they’re in both parties. I don’t see what it has to do with a guy who can’t bring himself to say a bad thing about Hamas and is a police-hating communist running the most important city in the country and one that has the biggest Jewish population. I should only be concerned about the asshole contingency in the Young Republicans?

- Mamdani has denounced Hamas many, many times. His opponents really want to focus on that instead of his ideas about how to run a city, because those are very popular. The less time he gets to spend talking about that, and the more time he's forced to spend talking about an issue he's 1) answered many times before & 2) the position of mayor of NYC has no impact on is a huge win for his opposition.
- No, there are not a similar amount of actual fucking nazis in the democrat party, lol, stop.

- The young republicans are a networking group of tomorrow's (todays...the group accepts people up to the age of 40) GOP leaders. The people in the young republicans are congressional and senatorial aides, younger operatives, state level elected officials, etc. They organize for the GOP, knock doors for the GOP and are tomorrow's GOP leaders in Washington.

I don't often get shocked by lof, but I have to admit the both sideism of equating both sides has shook me to my core. He can't actually believe this bit. I have recently taken to posting some examples of alt right threats of violence and dangerous rhetoric but it's all brushed off as "sorry I'm busy so I haven't looked into it" or "we already knew both sides had bad people, so what?", neither of which are addressing the point with the same level of rage that he has for the left about a dude whose main goal is to try to make shawarma's in his American city cost less money. The bias and delusion is wild.
Note: I don't really like Mamdani politically nor do I consider myself a classic "leftist" and most of the free Palestine endlessly protesting people are historically annoying to me. I am just pointing out the absurdity here.

I don’t get it. This shit is in every social group ever created. If the membership was polled while hooked up to a polygraph, I have no doubt between 10% to 20% of any non-Jewish social group would agree with those sick statements. Unlike shit talk ramblings of random unidentifiable psychos on Reddit, if these YR members who made any of these statements hold positions in govt, they should instantly be fired and blackballed from ever holding another one. I’m not shocked by it, it’s cut and dried and should be dealt with because no workplace (not to mention govt workplace) should have anyone like these people on staff, and that’s it. Everyone should be in agreement on this and I don’t see anyone who isn’t here, so what more is there to say.
That situation can co-exist with the more immediate situation of this jihadist in sheep’s clothing pulling the wool over many people’s eyes. Yeah sure, he’s denounced Hamas so many times - except when explicitly asked to do so for some reason. The same old, I don’t want to say they’re bad terrorists only because you’re asking me to. Because it’s so tough to just say yeah, they’re terrorists and they should disarm and disappear, and always when asked by the most mainstream media where his response would get widely spread. This guy is the more clear and present danger, especially since so many are willfully blind to his obvious inclinations, putting aside his insane politics.
I’m deeply troubled by both. But this asshole is many steps ahead of any of the YR assholes who may never even find themselves in such a position to take the reins over a major city.
