OT: World Politics

Buying time to re-arm.

Ukraine needs to keep going until he’s dead or in jail with a new leader of Russia installed. Can’t show Russia anything but a good ass kicking and lesson to never do this again.

I can't see there being a ceasefire. But zelensky will definitely negotiate peace while the fighting continues.

Putin's vision of "peace talks" with Ukraine has always been essentially just surrender.

Either a complete an unconditional one, or at minimum, official Ukrainian recognition that Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia & Crimea are all Russian territory (even the large portions of them they do not and have never occupied or controlled).

I don't ever see them moving off that position while Putin's alive.

The only reason he wants to talk now is that holding Crimea is starting to become untenable.

I was thinking them getting into Moscow - not sure how easy it will be to hold power over time when explosions are going down. It won’t be long before Ukraine starts targeting Putin and his friends with drones where they won’t be able to live a regular life.

Here's the scary thing for Russia.

Ukraine has reached a point where these attacks are entirely sustainable for them. These large drone waves isn't them saving all of their production for a few weeks and doing one big shock and awe attack. They can do this pretty much every night weather permitting.

Russia on the other hand, is starting to show that their volume of attacks isn't sustainable and that it's getting worse. An under reported but really important set of attacks have happened over the last few months. Russia has very limited industrial capability for producing their own chips to use in guidance systems. Ukraine has knocked out 3 of what is believed to be 6 total facilities in all of Russia capable of producing these chips. In Kremniy(march), VNIIR(may), and Voronezh (3 days ago). In the Kremniy and Voronezh attacks, they're pretty sure they dummied the clean rooms and all of the equipment in them. These take 18-24 months to replace, if they can even get the equipment ordered at all.

Canada best be mass producing drones watching what’s going on in Russia. We could fuck with Trump if he’s ever dumb enough to attack.

We did recently sign a partnership agreement with Ukraine to share drone technology, and build drones for Ukraine in Canada.

I find it hard to imagine that some of that drone production won't be for our own domestic stockpile as well, though obviously that's something the government of Canada probably did not feel the need to advertise.
