Yeah, on the one hand, that's pretty brutal.

One the other hand, this dude has made a 30+ year literary, academic and political career out of loudly yelling that Russia should violently conquer all of Europe and rule a socially conservative, Orthodox-Christian fascist totalitarian empire from Moscow.

With a special emphasis on re-conquering wayward ex-Soviet satellite states/Imperial Russian possessions like Ukraine & Georgia. And it seems his daughter enthusiastically followed dad into that line of work.

Well, now whether this is the result of factional infighting among Russia's elite over the war or this was orchestrated by Ukrainians or their sympathizers, in one way or another the war they both wanted has come home to bite them in the ass.

I was wondering about that. There seems to have been an attempt to kill Anatoly Chubais a few weeks ago in Italy? Hard to say. But a botched war sets the conditions for score settling and retribution among the siloviki.

Dugin, basically Putin’s Steven Bannon, was prominent for sure. But he is not part of the St. Petersburg cabal that seized power after Yeltsin. Maybe someone took measures…
