Something to remember regarding Kherson as well, is that their local commanders at the start of the invasion have been arrested for treason for not destroying the bridges as ordered to. Kherson likely wouldn't have been taken had the bridges been demoed as was apparently planned from the onset. After shaking loose some of hte problems in their command structure, Ukraine has been super fucking competent on all fronts.

They need to be smart when using western tech, otherwise the aid will be cut off.

Ukrainians are constrained by limited resources which makes me think they actually value the lives of their soldiers. This seems to be a factor in their decision making throughout. Unlike the Russian military leadership who rely on an endless supply of cannon fodder to move every km.
