I agree with the general that this is a raid, but I don't think they will pull back at a pre determined time frame. They've picked a position with river cover on their flanks in an area that is actually pretty well covered by UA anti air. It's not a big enough force to dig in and hold, but I think they'll stay mobile and a pain in the ass for as long as they can before retreating into Ukie territory. Every minute they spend in Russian territory is a huge political win for them and they likely want to maximize that.
 
It's turned into it's own mini propaganda war. There are photos on russian social media showing dead Free Russia soliders wearing Ukie uniforms and destroyed equipment similar to what was used in the raid. But the Russian Volunteer Corps is denying that's them, claims they're wearing an entirely different camo pattern than is seen in the russian social media images and have sustained no losses so far.

I have no idea what's true. I just know that it looks horrible optically for the Russians that tiny detachments of soldiers are able to take Russian territory, even for just a day or two.
