I think that bottom map is a big part of what this surprise Kharkiv push was about. If the Ukie can capture a few key points, they severely smash Russian ability to move anthing north-south quickly by rail

Right now they can ship out of Crimea to Kherson or Melitopol but they don't control Zap so that line ends there. If they take Kupyansk & Izyum back, it severely limits connectivity from Russia to Crimea. All of their ground supplies will be taking the scenic routes, and will have to rely more on a truck fleet that Trent Telenko has been pointing out for a long time, is very broken.
