OT: World Politics

is it?

or maybe at a time when Twitter is filled with fake insiders posting lies, some people wondered if the most horrific and monstrous story of the entire thing could be false?

And saying "but everybody believes hamas!" is bogus false equivalency, people believe there are Palestinian casualties because Palestinians, politicians and media members have been saying it, not because of fucking hamas

Biden is pretty old in fairness.
I often question if he knows where he is, or if he'll announce to a room full of press again that he wants to go beddy bye, but it seemed like he saw the pictures pretty recently and while in a somewhat lucid state.

I know, hardly the kind of solid evidence a rational skeptic like WeHave requires, but citing POTUS is pretty decent.

The mainstream media quite literally quotes casualty figures provided to them by Hamas-operated ministries.

i guess some of them are technically Palestinian "politicians". obviously everything they say should be taken with a grain of salt.

the point being that Israeli officials confirmed the baby story today. That is confirmation, whereas as I'm sure you know what random people are saying on Twitter is not always accurate.

So, maybe two silver linings from this. One is dark, the other is aspirational and likely unrealistic.

1) better to find out the people who I think deserve to die simply for existing now than later; and

2) there may be a real opportunity for folks who are uninformed or hold prejudicial views about the region to be confronted with some of the actual realities of the situation. I kinda need to believe in this one right now to keep going.

Respectfully, I don’t think you understand the extent to which Hamas exercises complete and total control over Gaza, including any ‘media’ within. But the original point stands regardless.

You might be better than most at separating the source and judging appropriately. What I’m seeing is some pretty serious skepticism about claims of harm to the Israeli side, but more or less blind acceptance of any claims of harm to Palestinians.
