OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

That was beautifully orchestrated by Mike & Jake….full on fixed/pre-arranged sparring session and everyone came out a winner.

Great night for boxing, and I couldn’t be more pumped for the fans this drew to the sport. 📈

I’m not a boxing fan, maybe only seen a couple of fights in my life, but I was super excited to see this. But it was terrible. Boring and uneventful. And a 4 hour lead up to the main event? Thankfully I didn’t start on time and could skip thru.

Also don’t understand all the complaints about the stream. Maybe watching live had problems? There were zero issues for me. Crisp screen and no buffering delays at all.

Yeah, there were too many concurrent streamers watching live.

Watching it after the fact is going to be fine, the servers won't be overloaded.

Anyway, the main event was never going to be good. You had an old man against a Disney star turned celebrity can crusher. The real fight was the women's co-main.

The fact it even had the non-fans like LoF tuning in is such a great indicator for the event.

Retention rate for folks who watched Barrios-Ramos & Serrano-Taylor should be about as good as you could hope for, from a promoters perspective too.

Just hope the “shock” that a 58 year old fighter didn’t make for a barn burner, doesn’t negatively impact the overall success of the event.

Thankfully it wasn’t even as bad as Anderson Silva getting knocked down by Jake, or Holyfield getting embarrassed & destroyed by Victor.

….just wish as mbow alluded to, that Mike had the legs he did in his “fight” against Roy.

The main event was a farce as I suspected it would be. Eight, 2 minute rounds, and 14 oz. gloves made it a glorified pillow fight.

To me Paul won nothing. He's fighting a guy 31 years older than he is. Anything less than a knockout is a failure. Fuck the judges' scorecards. If Tyson was still standing at the end, Paul is a loser.
