OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

Gastelum is one of the toughest guys I've ever seen, just a granite chin, but for such a little compact brick, he's really easy to hit for the higher end strikers in the division.
 
Serious question: How the fuck is Triller making money off of this? Was there any other C-lister or hasbeen that wasn't there for a quick paycheck?

There's no way in hell it was possible to make an actual profit off of that, unless the cartel paid everyone off in coke and Oscar got his payment upfront.

Watching Oscar last night was fucking sad, man. And they kept egging him on. He was 2 or 3 lines away from his heart blowing up.
 
Not remotely surprising. I hate that I'm in a position to like quite a few UFC fighters and wish nothing but good things for them while also hoping for the downfall of the company.
 
Yup.

I think I'd buy PPVs if I knew the money wasn't going in the UFC's pockets.

But at the same time, the fighters could fix this almost overnight. Unionize and everyone will see their pay increase.

The current lawsuit against the UFC is gaining traction too, so that might force change. My worry is, if they were to implement the Ali Act like they do in boxing, there's no fucking way I'd want that for MMA. Just look at boxing and how rare it is to get a match up between the best fighters in the world. It takes years & years to do.

Combine boxing paydays and the UFC's best fight the best model, and I'm a happy camper.

Rogan's last podcast with GSP was a lot of fun.

I like Lex Friedman when he isn't talking to other super geniuses.
 
I'd rather have testicular cancer than listen to Brendan Schaub for a second longer.

Josh Thompson & John McCarthy's podcast Weighing In is excellent, although John's hollier than thou attitude at times rubs me the wrong way.

I've been a fan of Luke Thomas for years, he's the best listen in MMA. Morning Kombat is annoying to listen to more often than not.

Another good podcast is Submission Radio.
 
The only one I bother with when I'm in the mood is Luke Thomas'. Everything else I've tried is basically bro science and dick jokes.
 
PFL needs to change their point system - not enough points to try and get people to go for finishes. I’m behind the live stream but a lot of meh fights.
