Yeah UFC & NFL I’m getting closer and closer to jumping off the bandwagon completely for exactly the reasons you state…I’m a massive hypocrite though too, cause I love boxing so much, ill be there for every big fight the Saudi’s put on.

There is undoubtedly something corrosive about these entities though, was bad enough stomaching how they robbed the fighters, but now with Dana as a propaganda wing of Trumpsism…it’s beyond the pale.

NFL is just as bad to its athletes (except for some tiny concessions made to shut up that pesky union), and is just a bit more corporate when it comes to their MAGA jingoism.
 
I am starting to think the fight was maybe staged with all these videos isolating certain points where they didn’t even try to swing at each other despite open shots.

They basically told us it was (and hinted at it before it happened imo)…..but I wouldn’t trust any Twitter videos for claiming it discovered anything in the match itself.

Your average joe doesn’t understand the insane sprint that boxing is, let alone for a 60 year old man trying to conserve energy to go 8 rounds, (as well as having the reflexes/timing of a 60 year old).

…as for Jake, he outright acknowledged post-fight that he didn’t go all out and try to hurt him/finish him.

Yeah, I think that’s pretty much the main way the match was “fixed”.

What we saw from Tyson is almost certainly the best that can be expected from an almost-60 year-old boxer fighting someone half their age. A flurry of effort at the start followed by several rounds of being completely gassed.

As for Paul—as much as he likes playing the heel, pretty clear that he made the calculation that knocking a senior-citizen boxing icon unconscious would be poorly-received. So he settled for just trying to land enough non-damaging punches that he’d convincingly get the decision.

That clip package looks like the opposite of a few random ones I saw floating around. These look pretty legit.
