Out of Town Scoreboard

that was pretty cool.

devils haven't scored a shootout goal in their last 20 attempts, so they pick the kid in his first nhl career game to shoot first. but don't tell him until about 5 seconds before he has to shoot.

and he scores.

oh man the habs have some horsshoes going lately.

tie game.

I'm not so sure it was lucky. The go ahead goal by the Devils was unfortunate for the Habs. Subban misplays the puck and it just happens to end up on Elias' stick a few feet from the net.

In OT Pacioretty had a clear cut break away and his stick broke on the shot. Then Gallagher hits the post a minute later. The breaks went both ways tonight.

Annoying to see the Habs winning so much, though it would be nice to finally have a Habs-Leafs first round tilt.
So, the only team we have to worry about is Ottawa right? If I read these new standings right, if New Jersey or Carolina start winning they just go up the Metropolitan ladder, which pushes down a mediocre team behind us. Clearly we need to win games, but the distance is between Altantic Division teams right?

Oh no you don't.

Earlier this year a misplay by Karlsson had the puck coughed up to Getzlaf - it was used as proof he's bad defensively. Be consistent, now HP...

No, if those Metro teams catch us, they'll snag our current wildcard spot. You should be cheering for every team behind us to lose, every night.

Yeah that's it, I said because of one misplay Karlsson was bad defensively. :rolleyes(2):

Oh wait... there's also the part where I've been saying for years that he's bad defensively due to the fact that he gets beaten one on one more frequently than most NHL dmen. It's not any one play with Karlsson. He's a phenomenal offensive dman, but he's just not good defensively.... at all.

Except that isn't the case - not before the injury, and not since recovering from the injury.

You're making it up. Feel free to prove it. But as of now it sounds like a homer, biased, sour fan.

Any proof, at all, to show that he gets beat more than other defenseman one on one (not including playing with a lacerated achilles)?

Anything at all?

Don't care, you're not turning a good comeback win into a Sens debate.

Awesome win.

How do you prove that a player is good or bad defensively on a message board?

Maybe you can prove he's good... cause really, since you're the one going against the consensus the onus should be on you to prove he's good defensively.

You make the claim that he is terrible defensively and gets burned one-on-one more often than other defensemen. That's a claim I'm asking you to back up.

But you can't - so you fall back on the "I watch the games" argument. Well, I watch the games as well and am not seeing the same thing (except for when he was severely injured). I can see how your opinion of the player is clouded by that brief time, but it isn't a holistic view of him as a player.
