What will make or break the series is whether or not we're able to shutdown the Palat-Point-Kucherov line.

If we can, I think we have a realistic shot at winning. If you look at Tampa Bay, the rest of their lineup isn't too dissimilar to ours. Their strength on D is on the left side while ours is on the right; Elite goaltending; Pretty good depth at forward.

If we can't, well, it was a fun ride while it lasted.

TBay has 5-more 5-on-5 goals than Habs in 1GP extra. They’ve really been reliant on the PP for key goals....need to limit to 3-penalties or less per game & keep up PK.

The Habs usually hit the wall whenever they come up against an opponent that can negate their advantage in goal. Tampa has that. Vasilevskiy has a higher save percentage, a lower GAA of under 2 (and we know what happens when the Habs don't score 2 goals) and 4 shutouts.

Tampa also has 5 players with more points in these playoffs than our leading scorer Toffoli, although the numbers are a wee bit skewed by that 8-0 game against the Islanders.

But Tampa is VERY reliant on powerplay scoring and our penalty kill is outstanding right now. We already know that the refs are going to screw us so Tampa is going to get powerplays. If we can shut them down as well as we did against Vegas we have a shot.

Maybe since the Habs are already in the finals and it won't make a difference to US TV ratings anymore there's no point for the refs to screw with them.

Just trying to bring some positive vibes.

Solid math there, Rollie.

BTW, a lot more “experts” are picking the Habs over Tampa than picked them in any of the three prior rounds. People have started to buy in, as they say.

Because their record leading up to this has been abysmal.

Not a chance. Doesn't matter though we still come out ahead G1.

The refs are Leaf fans, from longstanding Leaf fan families. They cannot help themselves. They will see Corey Perry with his face cut off, but will ponderr how not to blow the whistle while play proceeds. One example of many. We've lived with this my whole life.
