PLAYOFF GDT: Series 4 / Game 2: @ Tampa Bay, Wednesday, June 30th, 8:00EST (TB Leads 1-0)

Price has not been outstanding in this series but I don't see how he's been weak.

Only a couple of the goals allowed were reasonably stoppable.

People tend to think if you get a piece of it, that you should have stopped it. Sometimes getting a piece of it it impressive.

He let in one iffy and it was a screen. So did Vasy. I just won’t subscribe to the theory that when his team is shit in front of him its on Price to be better. It’s on the team to be better.
That one that went between Merrill's legs he'd have to have been lucky for it to just hit him.

Game 2 was 100% about puck management. Perry, Danault, Chariot and Edmundson. No goalie would have saved that shit show.

The Habs can’t win unless he’s better than Vasilevsky. Is that necessarily fair or just? No. Is life always fair or just? No. But it is what it is.
That...I agree wholeheartedly with, and was my initial response. There’s a huge difference between “crap” and what’s stated in bold.

Vasilevsky isn't unbeatable. Habs will find a way.
They need to create their bounces like the Bolts did last game.
Tonight will be the telling tale...if it happens, I suspect last change could be the difference maker in bringing it to fruition.

No. I just expect him to play better. There have been several leaky goals in this series. If you think he’s played great, good on ya. I’m done debating this. It’s pointless.
The difference is Puck Bounces for the goalie.. Price was getting them before.ie: hitting the post. hitting him when he didn't see it.. 1st goal for example in game 2, Price was screened, you can see him leaning left trying to follow the puck, when he picks it up he goes for the blocker save, it squeaks in under the blocker,, series before he gets that and it's a great save.. Vasey is getting more..

No goalie is saving us when we score 1 goal a game
I'm the first to say that Price, for at least the last 3 seasons, has been pretty mediocre (this playoff run notwithstanding, of course) but the one time I will always come to his defense is when people whine about his play after his teammates score only one goal in support. I don't care if the final score is 6-1. If all you can do is score one goal you are basically requiring your goalie to pitch a shutout. One goal gives a goalie zero margin for error. It isn't fair to him no matter how much money he's paid.

Price has proven during this run that if he gets 2 goals or more in support he can lock it down. But so far this series he hasn't been given an opportunity to show it. That's not on him.

Last 3 regular seasons Price wasn't good overall

Typically you can`t blame one player for a playoff series loss but the goalie is the easy target

Unless the rest of the team plays 100% to their ability , there is no way Price can be blamed unless he completely craps the bed every night.

Many of our forwards aren't scoring , we are creating too many turnovers that turn into goals

Losing in the finals will be a total team defeat

Ok so expecting him at his age to be better is foolish so why bother being a fan?

True

But now is also the time to cut ties and move on…even if we are getting Thibault in return…

This is the best Price will ever be, and quite frankly he sucked during the regular season, it took an injury to allow him (and Weber) some rest before playoffs
