Raise your hand if you thought Gally would score 20 this season

This guy is a true "Hab". It pissed me off when other board members would want to trade him. An honest question? do we make the playoffs if Gally were traded at deadline. I think NOT.

My pre season prediction Gally + Anderson would net 35-40G…

Team depth is part of why I was quite confident this team would be battling it up for a playoff spot till seasons end and not be a “tanker” - as long as no major injuries would derail the cause
 
Surprised but not shocked. Gallagher has been injured a lot. Credit to MSL for establishing consistent lines. Those guys have been good together.

Gallagher’s always been a 5-on-5 analytics darling - after return from injury he was the best Habs producer last season.

Disclaimer: I’m a very biased Chris Boucher fan and believe that was one of the best hires / poach jobs this org has made in a very long time

IMO we’re witnessing a lot of Boucher’s analytics w eye test input into player usage on this team.

Gally has been awesome. It would be great if his contract were $2m less than it is... If he can continue to provide what he is providing this season... He is a huge asset to this team.

And if anyone is a "playoff warrior" it's Brendan Fuckin Gallagher.
 
I’m like you sell. I figured we’d be in playoff position, but I never saw a galley scoring all these goals.

I thought that somebody like Heineman or another young player would’ve stepped up more

He has been a great surprise and a huge reason why we are where we are
 
I also thought that Suzuki would score more than 30 and Caulfield would hit 40. I’m less bullish on that right now but it’s still possible.

Ironically, his playoffs numbers are mediocre.

But I couldn't care less about contracts at this point, Habs are not stranded for cap space, it's been great to see the contribution from Gally and Andy this year.
 
I remember last year I felt like a lone voice defending Anderson at the beginning of the year when he went scoreless for like 25 games, I was liking the way he was playing, then confidence and pressure hit and he went to shit for the second half. I felt validated though when Anderson went through his big video study last summer and came back with the same assessment. He's a unique player on this team and can be very effective. You just can't expect him to be something he's not. Same for Gallagher.
