Rumors: 2024-25 Season

i don't know, but by the way you two both go at each other i would think it goes both ways..
not me, Im straight, not sure about Wehave though, only met him maybe 12 times in my life and mostly at hockey games,,,

btw, there is another Canadiens' fan in Penticton who posts a ton on X/bluesky

I'd be interested in Nemec, but if the price is similar to what Minny paid for Jiricek? I'll pass.

I'd be much more interested in trying to find another Dach/Newhook. A 21 to 23 year old forward.

Minny didn't give up much

A 1st, a 2nd, a 3rd, a 4th + an AHL d-man for a guy who doesn't seem to be able to crack the NHL isn't much?

A second in 2027 plus the other non first picks may yield zilch and the first will be a low pick

Not a bad gamble if Minny turns him around with a change of scenery

It's likely much less than it appears to be. As you know, the odds of any draft pick lower than a high/mid 2nd rounder playing a lot of NHL games are very low. Obviously it can happen but Minny likes the odds and they also have a stacked prospect pipeline . . . as do we. I'd give that up for Nemec easily but NJ will want players who can play for them now.

For reference, we gave up a 1st & 2nd for Newhook and he was an established NHLer. At the dates they were traded, Newhook was 22 years old & 5 months, Jiricek 21 years old.

It's just, both Jiricek & Nemec can't seem to crack the NHL when, in theory, they should in the process of establishing themselves. Jiricek got traded to a much better team, and he's still not getting minutes in the NHL.

I'm not opposed to trading any of those assets for young players, but I'm not giving those up to players who can't seem to make the league due to their own play.

But he’s really not. He’s just playing in the AHL presently. RHP is an AHL player. I think Nemec ends up in Vancouver as part of a deal for JT Miller. I can see Nemec and Mercer for JT making sense for both teams.
Nice deal for both , Miller gives the Devils a huge playoff add
