We already have 48 and 8.
Would rather have a better (and younger if possible) version of Savard, who could be kept as a # 7.

I’d be ok with using one to get someone younger, à la Dach. (I suppose that’s a version of staying the course.)

That’s fair. I’m suggesting a trade for immediate needs… to functionally replace Savard. I don’t think he can deliver the TOI they’ll need.

Yeah I agree with that point. Karlsson at $5m would be a legit steal though. By the time his contract is up in two years we should have Reinbacher to step into his roll.

Usually I would agree but there's a feeling around this team currently that they can win anywhere. Add Crosby and that goes through the roof. Plus having his skill and especially work ethic around the team can only be good for the younger guys.

Crosby, Suzuki, Caufield, Demidov, Slaf, Laine, Dach is a pretty good forward core.
I'm still skeptical of the D overall.
Hugo would need to pull some good trades and Demigod and others need to step in and contribute right away

We all are but the point of the matter is you just don't know what will happen in the playoffs, aside from the Leafs choking that is.
Crosby doesn't make us a contender but he does likely get us in and give the Habs the "meaningful" games that Sal is craving.
