Yeah lets do Pleks, Markov and Diaz for Saad, Shaw and Hjalmarsson.

I really don't think either Saad or Shaw will be stars but I think Saad can be a decent 1st liner and Shaw a solid 2nd liner while Hjalmarsson is an decent #3-4 dman.

That's the thing. The Hawks "need" a 2nd line centre.... but they've won a couple Cups without one including the most recent Cup.

So yeah, even though I'm coming up with "ideas" I don't think the Hawks are looking to shake things up a whole lot.
 
Going to the game tonight. Sitting behind Habs bench few rows up.

Habs win and MT head gets canned after I scream at him. Potential Perfect night.

Bergevin should go after Kane. Kane and Toews are both UFA after next season and it has been oft speculated that the Hawks will let Kane go over Toews.
 
Habs currently have ~$3M in cap space and a projected deadline cap availability of ~$5.5M.

Oh yeah, if they have to choose between the two there's no doubt they keep Toews. It would be amazing to land Kane... can't even fathom it actually happening though.

Perhaps if you threw in Diaz you'd get that done. Saad is a nice piece but Pleks is worth more. Hjarmalsson is worth more than Diaz.

Well that's why I said Pleks and...

But I have no idea what the and could be.

So in essence would we be content getting Saad as the main piece in a deal for Pleks...not sure about that

Yeah but Markov is UFA so it's really just a rental.

As great as that would be I just can't see the Hawks trading Kane, that would screw up their first line. Any deal for Pleks would probably involve Saad, a pospect and a pick...

Add a mid round pick to that and I would do it. Teravainen is one of those few smallish skilled forwards I would love to have on this team. Guy is absolutely amazing with the puck, he's the Finnish Denis Savard

Well yeah, that's exactly why I couldn't fathom that idea. No way the Hawks trade Kane. They'll find a way to re-sign him and Toews.

If we get Terraveinen in any deal involving Pleks I'm all for it.

Going forward with Galchenyuk, Terraveinen, Max, Gallager up front I feel hopeful
