Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Dortmund add Chelsea wantaway on permanent deal

Hmm ... it's almost like VDC and I had a crystal ball on that one. Chelsea yet again luring some kid from another Prem club with ridiculous money and promises of playing time that they're never going to honor only to see him get disillusioned and then dumped off on another club a couple of years later. Chelsea 101. And they wonder why other clubs freaking hate them.

The only shocking part is that they are going to turn a profit on it, albeit a very small one. At least they lost money on Felix, if they somehow recouped what they paid for him, I would demand a formal inquiry look into the matter.

Besiktas terminated Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract a year early and paid him €1.75 million. Birmingham City have expressed interest as they build a team capable of promotion in their first year back in the Championship.

Will he submit to playing in the Championship though? I know it's actually a better league than the Turkish league, but there ain't much cache to playing in the 2nd division with the 2nd team in England's 2nd city. Cash probably fixes that, I guess

I wonder if they'll get Wissa or Strand Larsen now, because I've heard they're also trying to lure Fermin Lopez from Barca. And what does this mean for Alexander Isak? 🤔

Newcastle were pretty clear that they weren't going to even entertain selling Isak until they had another legit option. Woltemade seems to be that, so ... I guess he'll get a deal if his agent can cobble something together.

Arsenal sign defender Piero Hincapie from Leverkusen on a season long loan with an option to buy. But he’s already signed a 5 year contract at the Emirates, so next summer is a done deal. The total package is €52 million with a 10% sell on fee. That will also mean Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior can move to Porto for €25 million that could go to €27 million.

Man U has reached agreement with Napoli to send striker Rasmus Hojlund on a season long loan that will become permanent if Napoli qualifies for the Champions League. If it happens, the fee is €44 million. Hojlund hasn’t agreed to move but he’s been left out of all 3 Man U match day squads, a pretty clear indication that his time is up.

West Ham defender Emerson Palmieri to Marseille. Will the last one out of the London Stadium please turn out the lights? He’s thr 10 departure since last season ended.

Well, something's gotta give. Martinez crapped out on them a fair amount last season, so as long as they don't blow his entire transfer fee on some schlub of a replacement then getting his massive salary off the books will be a net plus. They BADLY need a result before Europe for next season starts to look futile, and I think they badly need somebody of quality coming in to boost the troops. If getting Emi's wages off the books helps that, then fine.
