Team Canada/2025 World Juniors

Canada & US have always scorned players who have gone to enemy territory, unless the player is so unbelievably talented that leaving him off the roster would be sacrilegious.

So it's not a shock to me that Hage wasn't invited. The same way Team USA didn't invite Quentin Musty. These are just dumb organizational politics.

What's actually shocking is not inviting Landon Dupont. He's arguably the second or third best d-man on that roster, despite being 15 years old. I don't see what the harm would be to have him on the team as the 7th d-man.

Let Dupont develop , he has 2 more junior years to make it

Would have invited him to camp. I'll have to go watch him play next year (everett doesn't play in Edmonton this season, so I think next year they do).

Canada defeats U-Sports 5-2 in Game 1.

Canada trailed 2-1 after two but completely took over in the third period.

Goal scorers were Rehkopf (3), Martone and Gauthier.

Rehkopf -- a returnee from last year -- who wasn't considered a lock, very much helped his case. Looked good with Sennecke.

The other player in the same boat, Matthew Wood, not so sure.

*****

There was then a five-minute 3-on-3 overtime practice, which ended 1-1.

Canada's goal was scored by Caden Price.

*****

The day was finished off with a five-round shootout, which Canada won 1-0.

Shooters:
McKenna x
Martone x
Parekh x
Sennecke x (crazy deke but missed the empty net somehow)
Catton ✓

Canada defeats U-Sports 2-1 in Game 2.

Goal scorers were Yager and Wood.

Lots of special-teams work for both sides but not much doing on the score sheet.

No overtime or shootout today, so Canada's camp is now over. Cuts to follow.
