I don't hate it. I would have preferred to give Spezza a shot for the first dozen or so games just to get a look at him. But Shore is a damn good player so it's hard to complain too much.

Oh yeah I don't disagree with that.I'm not super attached to Spezza specifically, but it's the basic philosophy of this move I hate.
Dubas wants four lines with as much skill as possible, including his fourth line. Whereas Babcock's philosophy is that the fourth line must be populated by "safe", low-event slugs with as little talent and creativity as possible.
Once again, this is Babcock sticking his finger in Dubas's eye and going with his own tired philosophy of team-building.
