a) Benn is a cromulent #6D

He's been terrible for a few years now as a 6-7 for mostly bad teams. Last time he was even NHL level was for Montreal.

b) Rielly-Benn have actually been legit great in their 2 games together - 68.5xgf% and 81.5gf%. Better than Mo-Lilly were in their 4 games together - 47.1xgf% and 72.8gf%.

Natty has Rielly-Benn at 65% xG in 65% offensive zone faceoffs (55% offensive zone starts total...so super sweet heart usage) in 26 minutes, and Rielly-Lilly at 50.2% in 64 minutes with 50% offensive zone starts...way more neutral 2 way usage.

So this kind of raises the question...let's assume that Rielly-Benn is good in super duper sweet heart offensive matchups...do we really want to be giving Jordie fucking Benn all of the offensive zone starts? We're already struggling to score goals ffs.

c) Sandin is strugglin'.

The best thing the coach could do is tell Sandin not to even fucking worry about it, put it in the rearview, today is a new day and we all know he's a great player. Simple as that. Just keep encouraging and getting that confidence up until it needs little to no propping up to stay there.
