The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

this is one of the deepest drafts in years so maybe they have identified someone who can they land in the back end of the 1st round.

I still suspect this gets flipped for a top 6 winger though

My vibe was that Raz would be traded for draft capital during the summer. But Dubas is cooking!
I was 50-50 on that. Felt like a clear roster inefficiency to have him rotting as a 7. I knew Kyle would explore it, was just a matter of finding a partner. A little surprised at the return, but maybe he flips the pick for a forward now.

good surprise or bad surprise?

surprised good or surprised bad?
I just thought if they traded him it would be for immediate help up front.. But there could be a part 2 to this trade, we'll see. I'm sure Raz's agent was in Kyle's ear as well, and while I don't think that was a major factor, Kyle did squeeze him in contract negotiations so maybe he felt like he needed to do right by him after acquiring McCabe and pushing him out.

It is a little unfortunate that after hitting a home run picking Raz as a late 1st, all they get back for him is another late 1st. Don't think they got value back here but maybe this is just Dubas doing right by the player and taking the best offer available. Think he was a touch underrated by reputation, as most Leafs d are.

They clearly didn't rate Sandin, and the first is probably going to be traded, Gus is the d-insurance.

Wonder what forward they have in mind? As Sandin could have been traded in the off-season.
