Yeah…. He’s been crap. But on a heater right now, so I can see the appeal for a desperate team.

I get trading Sandin and am fine with the return. An emergency Rielly injury replacement for the playoffs and a 1st. I'm not in the camp that sees Sandin turning into the type of minute eating defender that you can win with. He's smart and has some skill but I think his okay but just okay skating will always leave him as a slave to his lack of size and strength. The McCabe trade was writing on the wall. I will say that I would have preferred we turned Sandin and stuff into the mythical "top 6 LW" we all want, but I imagine Boston's 1st would function just as well there if we want the anti vaxxer from Detroit.

Engvall for a 3rd is very weird in a vacuum. He's been soft as baby shit in the playoffs to this point in his career so I get it, but we're kind of fucking thin at LW even if JT to the left side is a full time thing. If the idea is to ever move ROR to the 3rd line and JT back to centre, we're incredibly anemic at LW now. Jarnkrok-Kerfoot ffs. Fuck off.

and I want to not hate the Luke Schenn move. This is the type of move that all sorts of contender level clubs make at the deadline. 3rd-5th rounders spent on veteran gud pros to sit in the pressbox and give us professional minutes in case of injury. Now, maybe it's my Lyubushkin PTSD talking, but I definitely see a scenario where it's game 7 and Lilly sits for Schenn because Lilly turned the puck over in game 2 and it led to a goal in a game we won 5-3. Schenn's 6 minor penalties caused chasing the play between games 3-6 that led to 4 PP goals against will be forgiven because gud pros, whatcha gonna do?

Shockingly....we should not be desperate in net. Sammy is fine and Murray when healthy has been fine, also has that big dick playoff energy.

And is .500 on a tire fire team this year with a .913 sv %


If he can be had reasonably he's a very good add for the playoffs and you never know, could catch lightning in a bottle if samsonov falters.

I don't trust Murray to stay healthy
