The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

I'd definitely take Engvall over Kerf.

I like Kerf's speed a lot, and he can make something happen sometimes, but very one-dimensional.

Kerfoot is a far better playmaker. Above and beyond what Engvall could ever dream of.

Engvall is better at literally everything else though. In some areas, significantly so.

Does being paired with Kampf and Jarnkrok offset enough of Kerfoots lack of everything else?

No

Fuck that guy. Fucking idiot.

Calling it now. Schenn scoring a backbone OT winner in round 1
Put the pipe down and take three steps backwards.

Any coach, and I mean any, that ices Luke Schenn in any OT setting deserves to be fired.

The same actually applies to regulation though.

They traded a guy who has nearly single handedly made Kampf look useful in his stint with the Leafs. Clearly Keefe was not a fan but I think they picked the wrong guy to trade. And hey, maybe they upgrade on him anyway. I'll reserve judgment but if this is all they do then I'm with zeke on this one ESPECIALLY since they'll be playing Schenn over Holl so it worsens them in two ways, not just one.

Have Schenn's nerdie stats actually been really bad this year? Disregarding whether it's temporary or not. Because his cool stats are pretty decent for having played on that team.

Wouldn't that be perfect? Trade the really useful guy, and then get left with a totally useless guy as a result.

I'm very concerned about Kampf playing anything other than 4C minutes and PK, and even those, I'm not so sure when matched up against the best teams.

The case for trading Engvall isn't necessarily horrible. I get it. 0 goals in 17 playoff games is bad. I think they're a worse team because of it, at least in the regular season, but I get why you'd want to cleanse yourself of playoff failure.

But then Kerf has 2 goals in his last 31 playoff games and he makes 3.5 million
Jarnkrok has 4 goals in 75 career playoff games

If they cycle out 2 of those 3 failed playoff guys and grab one more upgrade up front then I'd feel a lot better. I trust that they're probably not done and I truly believe that if Kyle has gone this far to trim the playoff duds, Kerfoot has to be next.

I stand by my statement

The Leafs without the Engvall-Kampf dynamic duo of shitting on other teams nerdy style are barely even worth watching. I don't blame him.

Yeah, I will be stunned if Kerf is still here, semi-surprised if Holl is, and mildly surprised if ZAR is.

Like I said earlier, I think that Boston 1st is going for a top sixer for sure, and salaries will need to be moved out, and the logjam on D addressed. There's no chance there isn't some significant move for a winger by tomorrow.

It's so fucked up that he dropped Engvall.

He got Acciari, he has Holmberg, Lafferty can play center. Matty, Tavares, ROR, and even Willy can all play center. Total of SEVEN great to serviceable centers.

Why in the fuck do you drop the big smooth winger who can score 20 and keep Kampf at center with his amusing offensive faceplants? This might be the most puzzling thing Dubie has ever done. I can't make a lick of sense from it.

Keefe hates Engvall. The metrics all love him so it can't be a nerd stat evaluation. Keefe just doesn't like the player and never has really.
