The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

I'll see you in the ECF then.

Anything less and I want everyone gone

Pretty much. the Leafs are in bit of a no-win situation here, as Tampa already has built in excuses and considerable laurels to rest on if they lose this series. the Leafs don't have any of that. if Toronto does win, well Tampa were just tired -- the sports equivalent of sexual exhaustion, honestly. They're worn out from being so awesome every year. It's tough work.

if the Leafs do lose though, it'll be they are what we thought they were after 6 straight oustings. it's maybe not 100% fair but the Leafs put themselves in this position, didn't they??

I think it's possible to be both optimistic and frustrated with some of the decisions they've made. These aren't mutually exclusive, folks.

Beating Tampa doesn't exactly prove that they made perfect decisions at the deadline. It's okay to voice that displeasure while still acknowledging the caliber of the roster. You can do both, I promise.

Lets look some of the finer details before slapping our dicks on the table about Engvalls current output

22.7sh%, 16oish% and 60% oz starts and still only on a 47pt pace ( 12pt higher then his highest career pace )

I enjoyed Engvalls time here but we have been beating this dead horse for a month already. You would think we let Matthews walk for nothing with how some are reacting

I didn’t then and still don’t care much about the decision to dump Engvall, in and of itself.

It’s that they didn’t get an upgrade on him or even replace him, or rather replaced him with the likes of Lafferty, that I have a problem with.

Along with their inability or unwillingness to find a better way of spending $3.5M in cap space than on Alex Kerfoot.

I got the exact same analysis from ChatGPT.

Fuck, you’re good.

the issue is more the state of our current wingers, particularly in the bottom six, than with Engvall specifically.

Not to toot my own horn but I put that one in my top 3 posts of all-time.

Unfortunately, I am not seeing that in the reaction score at this time (just 1 like) but maybe it will pick up steam over time.

Concise, straight to the point, and addresses everyone who throws a bitchfit when anything slightly negative is said with class and respect. Van Gogh.
