The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

At this point.. they've got me while they have 34 and 16.

Yeah, I don't see myself quitting the club, just going from 75+ games a year down to like 10-20.

There's a pub in Vallarta that shows all the Leaf games, I would basically only watch there i figure. If I can't generate the give a fuck to leave the house for, meh, find something else to do

So much drama.

Why can't we complain about shitty moves without giving up on hockey and still liking the team?

We can and we did but we can also circle back and point out there may have been some over reaction to a small sample size post deadline

Some where ready to tighten the noose a few weeks ago based on a few games of bad underlying numbers

well, we're now 2-2-1 in our last 5, and the impressive underlying numbers trailed off last game.

With more dominos to fall. ROR,. Accari , Knies, McMann etc should make a significant difference to those in the coming weeks

I have a hard time believing a team that has been so data driven for the last 6 years suddenly threw caution to the wind and went full jwb.

fan since the late 1980s for me man.

that's a looooong fuckin time to watch a team with no results.

1967. I was 10. That's a looooonger fucking time with no results.

I am cautiously optimistic that we'll get to the second round this year.

I'm also prepared to once again be highly disappointed/pissed off this year.

Jwb??

Here's a thought.... I think you give ROR the last 2 or 3 games...but that includes Tampa. Guh.
Who's to say Tampa doesn't do what they did against Boston and goon it up against us with a line up that would have ROR maybe play a bit more in preparation.

I really hope by us maybe playing our goons thst it could end up either hurting us or suspensions. Although Tampa doing this twice should show them as more culpable.
Good night

Why not goon it on them? Horny, simmonds, clifford, schenn etc.?

Also to alleviate anyone's worries I'm going to game 1. So my 6-1 record will be at the game

Yeah, I’d put myself in the same boat. I can’t see myself ever completely giving up on the team, but if the 16/34/88 era concludes with zero success, I can’t see myself continuing to make the Leafs appointment viewing.

Instead, my fandom probably drops down to Jays/Raptors-level. Watch the occasional regular season game and catch them in the playoffs if they look like they have a good enough team to do some damage.

If ROR doesn’t suck then this is the first time a Leafs team checks all the boxes I think. If he does suck Bunting still checks that top line winger box anyway.
