Another group of GMs Dubas publicly called out last year. No more leaks. No more fuck the Leafs waiver claims.
 
What does that mean, that previously other GMs would talk about who we had on waivers to the press? Can't we assume all GMs are aware of who is on waivers at any given time without reading it in Elliott's 32 thoughts?
 
Hard to see any of the teams within arms reach of a wild card spot selling. Isles will likely hang tight and see how the rest of the season plays out
 
I think I'd be happy with a good scoring winger and maybe another goalie, which Dubas would be perfectly justified in going after with Murray MIA and Samsonov having come into the season as the backup

defence is all the media talks about but that might be the one position we're ok at
 
Orlov and Hathaway pulled from lineup for trade reasons.

Hathaway as a fourth liner to completely get rid of Zar and or move acciari to the wing with ROR on the third line and then put Kampf with Hathaway would give us a fourth line that can hurt you.

Not 100 sure on Orlov but he is a cup winner
 
Orlov would be a functioning Muzzin replacement from what I remember. Not sure what his form has been like this year though. He was their LH shut down guy during their peak years though.
 
Orlov is actually pretty interesting. He's been getting 2nd unit power play time this year in addition to being a tough shut-down D. Dom's model likes him too.

Suddenly the d on the market seem way more interesting than the forwards. Fuck positional "needs" - get the best guy available.

The mistake is thinking that the Leafs have major holes that need to be filled. For a team of this caliber, any time you can acquire an elite talent, you do it. Realistically, that's how they're gonna improve; by acquiring more elite talent.

You still need to target need. You don’t have unlimited prospects and picks to trade. And priority for me is still goals, since they get so much harder to come by in the playoffs. I’d even prefer a G upgrade before a D upgrade. It’s our deepest and strongest position.
 
Sandin will not last getting pounded by the Hathaway forecheck....we need a dman that can take a hit and make a play

Nobody says no to those guys. But that means you lose the ability to upgrade F, which is killer for me.
