The Fucking Offseason Thread - Why bother waiting?

Two episodes in. The scene that disturbs me most so far is the meeting in Dubie’s office with all the core players…except Willy. And Thornton of all people instead.

I’ve commented a lot over the years that it often feels like he’s not in the inner social circle, but seems like he’s not even in the inner circle for team brass. I find it very unusual and disconcerting.

Also the constant “fuck” fetish in every second word uttered by Keefe has already worn on me. I hope he’s just doing that for the cameras, but doubt it. It’s tough to send an effective message to pupils, employees, whatever you want to call it, when you’re firing F bombs constantly. It adds an element of anger and aggression that’s probably counterproductive to getting a lesson across.

Yelling 'Fuck" a lot in really outdated. Surprised as he's a young coach. I once had a VP come to our office and scream fuck non-stop. I wanted to laugh.

yeah count me on board team, 'whoa that's a lot of [unnecessary] fucks'

also I feel fucking old watching these 20 year olds...

It's tough to get a good grasp on how much of this is real frankly.

It's not like these are hidden cameras or anything. It's not like we're getting access to the most sensitive and secret stuff.

It's entertaining, and somewhat informative, but certainly more the former than the latter.

apparently the leafs exercised a lot of their editorial control.

which isn't a surprise, but a friend in sports PR tells me they cut 80% of the good stuff.

i also have a feeling they wanted to limit dick jokes and fbombs by their stars. it's one thing to let your coach spout off or jumbo be jumbo (he's jumbo, and he's gonezo). it'd be another thing if you have 44 or 34 throwing fbombs like sheldon queef.

No doubt they'd take that stuff out, and truthfully, I wouldn't even care to sit through it.

The stuff you really want to hear about is deliberations on trades, friction between players, tension between players and management.

I'm only 2 out of 5 into it, but I doubt the other three have any content that will surprise me much.

yeah, there was pretty much none of the tension, other than vesey being shit, mikky wanting more playing time and queef being angry with matthews.

they also complete glossed over the travis boyd era. like, not even a mention.

So were episodes 6-10 supposed to be the chronicles of a long playoff run? 5 episodes is pretty weak.

Episode 3 - I gotta say I kinda hate Freddy as a person. Just a dark cloud, wet blanket kind of guy you don’t want to be around. Yech.
