Leaf fans are silly. He's our #3 goalie, and could be #4 if Kallgren's first 10 AHL games are an indicator of what he is (.922%)
Tampa's #3 is Maxime Legace (19 career NHL games with a .875)
Boston's is Troy Grosenick (32yrs old, 4 career NHL appearances. Good AHL goalie though, a .915-.920 guy there)
Florida's is Jonas Johanssen (remember that scrub we lit up in the Colorado beating? yeah, him. 30 career NHL games, .893)
Washington: Phoenix Copley (30 yrs old, 29 NHL games, .901)
Penguins: Louie Domingue (140gp .904...decent #3)
NYR: Keith Kinkaid (167gp .905, but sub .900 since 2018)
Carolina: Alex Lyon (29 with only 23gp, .895)
Isles: Corey Schneider...yeah, 36 year old Corey Schneider, has been bad and/or broken for 4-5 years now.
Hutch is one of the most experienced on that list (137gp) with one of the best career track records (.905 NHL sv%). That's all you can expect our of a #3. A guy who isn't going to be rattled getting thrown into NHL reps and isn't brutal.
I'd much rather have Hutch around as our #3 than what damn near every other team in the east is throwing out there as their #3.
