The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

i guess they could, but i highly doubt they were interested in a Liljegren-Brooks swap right now.

so that rule doesn't work.

they could still put him back on waivers and hope he clears though.

I think that rule expired for us on this one but maybe not.

I’d be pretty surprised if we got any special consideration when he’s been claimed by both Montreal and Vegas before we got him back. He’s probably just a regular ole waiver claim.

So, curious if there’s another shoe about to drop here. Whether a trade, or someone being injured.

it might be that they can't put Brooks back on waivers until tommorrow.
Think this is it. If he was available for the Leafs to pick up, he likely clears. And the Leafs know that the odds of him clearing are high.

Unless Vegas wants him back on their AHL team?

I'm actually happy to see Brooks back and am legit surprised he didn't catch on elsewhere. I think he's solid 4th line depth who can play.

Lilly being down is temporary. Something else is happening.

This is a dumb rule. So you get to claim him on waivers, only to have to put him through again so the rest of the teams get a shot?

If you get a guy off waivers, you should be able to do with him what you want.

yeah i'm going to go ahead and guess Brooks is on waivers tommorrow and Lilly is back. they just couldn't put him on waivers right away.

Given that Brooks hasn't played in so long as is apparently injured they're probably sure he'll get through waivers no problem.

makes sense.

nothing to do with any trade i don't think.

Anyone who has watched him knows he has the power of flight. He just stays close to the ground so as to not show up on radar.
