This is actually pretty interesting because moving Kerfoot to C would pretty much have to mean Kampf moving down a line. It may also mean that they think Kase is coming back......or maybe that Blackwell deserves a shot on a scoring line.
Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-Tavares-Kase/Blackwell
Engvall-Kerfoot-Nylander
XXXXX-Kampf-XXXXX
with XXXX = Kase/Blackwell/Spezza/Simmonds/Clifford/Robertson/Abbruzzese/Steeves/Anderson
if it's mainly the Kerf-Willy combo he wants to reunite then he could also end up moving Engvall to that Tavares line, and having a Kerfoot-Kampf-Nylander or a Nylander-Kerfoot-Kase/Blackwell 3rd line.
IMO i like the idea of moving Kampf down a line - i think he'd be an ultra good 4th line C and give that line usefulness no matter who is on the wings, and there's no doubt that he's the least offensively talented of all our forwards, so while he's not a liability on the 3rd line it's hard for that line to ever be a true strength.
but man if we can get that Kerfoot-Willy magic going again from the playoffs, but have that be our 3rd line this time instead of our 2nd line, then we are looking pretty stacked.
