Even if they did fire Dubas I don’t think they’d fire Shanny, and really he deserves all the credit not the nerd. There are other nerds out there.

and I don’t think Shanny would fire Dubas anyway.

Agree I don't think he'll be fired. But if they eventually do fire him they're not gonna go back to another nerd. Firing dubas is firing a forward thinking data-centric approach to roster construction. They'll get one of the recycled old school guys that command "respect."
 
I think Keefe should be a goner first. especially if you're talking "respect"

I get Anglo Therrien vibes from him. I think the team can do better.
 
You have to remember who is in charge of making these decisions; these aren't hockey people. They need to be convinced that a newer nerdy dubas approach can be successful. If they fire Kyle after multiple first round failures they're gonna go back to the drawing board and grab another Lou type, strap him with an analytics department and they'll be barely used.

But it's hard to justify firing the guy after a season like this. Won't happen imo.

Oh I'm running under the assumption that they're a package deal and both would be gone. But even then, some here (including you!) theorized that he has been behind the gudpro additions to the roster in recent years. If he is feeling the pressure from the higher ups and for whatever reason they move on from dubas, I don't think they'll bring in another dubas to replace him. No chance.
 
I do think Shanny has some gudpro love. But many organizations (not just in sports) have these push/pull debates.

I do find it funny how Keefe is never mentioned in Adams conversations yet we see names like Gallant, Sullivan, McClellan etc

Meanwhile he coached them to a top 4 finish with bottom feeder goaltending for 75% of the season

Agree. Shanny won't fire dubas I don't think. If dubas is fired they're both gone. And it'll be symbolic as a failure of a data driven approach to roster construction. They wouldn't bring in another dubas. They just won't.

I find it funny too...he's kind of seen (unfairly) as a mere extension of Dubas
