The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Round 1 Game 1 - Sens vs Habs

Yep, gotta say this one was all on MB... we were the team that played with an edge unlike the last time we met the Sens in the playoffs.

Petry, Flynn, Mitchell and DSP all looked great out there.

Yeah. And Eller had his game going. Plus Chuckie and Gallagher had some good moments.

Everything went wrong. Everything.

But they won. Veeeeeeeeeery good.

Small note: JdLR was nervous, but settled in the third and played during the last two minutes.
DLR made an awesome play in the dying minutes, in front of the crease clearing the puck to the corner, so simple yet so calm, and without hesitation - the perfect play at that given situation.

We would not have come close to winning that a few years ago.

Really the Habs just had one horrible stretch after they gave up the fluky first goal. Looked like they would give up a second. But they didn't, and played well after that.

Glad to see the guys picked up by Bergevin FOR the playoffs, SHOW UP BIG in the playoffs (first game anyway). We'll see what happens with Subban, who needs to be smarter with his stick when he gets back. Price can be better, Max should be back, so they should be better in Game 2.

DSP was clearly getting under their skins and he has the size that there is nothing they could do about it

the way I see it, things can't go worse than they went this game.

PK will be motivated and play well. Markov is bad tonight too and he'll be better. Plus hopefully getting Pacioretty back

I'm shocked quite frankly with the game from Flynn and Mitchell. Huge. With Petry and Smith-Pelley great night for the new guys.

We also got into Hammond's head. We'll see if he bounces back. He hasn't had to face much adversity all year.

GOOD: Marc Bergevin. All of his deadline pick-up's had huge games tonight. DSP, Petry, Flynn, Mitchell. He looks like a genius.

BAD: The Sens. What a fraud they are. Hammond is an AHL goalie and if not for the biased reffing and luck it would have been a blow-out. And Stone's acting chops are Nicholas Cage straight to video bad.

UGLY: the officiating. Every time you think you've seen the refs hit rock bottom they go deeper.

Plekanec will get destroyed this series by Turris unless adjustments are made.

Hopefully MaxPac is ready to go at 100% in game 2 and we never see "possession friendly" PAP ever again in a Habs uni.

He was nervous for sure but good point you made that he settled in.

I like the fact he's getting this experince.
When Max comes back the guy I'd sit is PaP

is it true that refs can take away a game misconduct if the injured player isn't actually injured?

If so, maybe a bit of gamesmanship from Ottawa taking Stone out, bringing him back in. He played the better half of the 3rd period

Maybe they should sit Max for game 2. It will be in Ottawa where they have a smaller chance of winning without him. Save him for then.

Not worried at all about PK, makes me lose my marbles w his stupidities, but he knows when it's SHOWTIME, and raises his intensity & performance accordingly.
