The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

Starting to see a bigger push for private minor leagues here in Berta. HSL (Hockey Super League) is a big one funded by a couple of rich families. 5-6k a year for registration, not governed by AB Hockey so they have their own guidelines and rules

They are currently building their own rinks so they don't have to compete with local minor programs for ice time etc.
Lindros is doing this in Toronto.

i think we can safely say dubas would have traded down instead of reaching for cooper in the first. he did it multiple times during his tenure here. treliving failed

Not sure how we can safely say that at all. He would’ve been getting the same advice and Intel about who teams were after as Treliving from a guy he trusts even more.

i mean how many times did dubas trade back in his tenure here? i don't seem to recall him making a lot of reach picks in his time here either. i think its a safe assumption to make

I mean there were no trades last night. Zero. And if they thought he would go early 2nd round, there's not much wiggle room to trade down from 28 anyway. As I said last night, at that point in the draft, don't overthink it : get your guy.

When was the last time Kyle traded down from a 1st round pick? Was it the Konecny/Dermott/Bracco thing?

another angle of the Kampf commitment is that Acciari won't be coming back. I would prefer Cookie at 4C and it will be interesting to see how much he gets by comparison

Yeah that struck me to.

Otoh, i'm not sure acciari is actually a C, even though i like him a ton.

So he's going to try to trade Murray first.

Does anyone have dead, uninsured salary out there?

I mean this shouldn't be difficult. Murray had a .906 and .903 last two years which is closer to average than bad, and has a 1 year deal, and has pedigree.

We ditched Mrazek coming of an injured .888 season with 2yrs left and no pedigree.

This is why they were selective about WHERE they traded down to. Didn't want to go too low because they simply love the player, right or wrong.

Almost seems like you should keep him
