Was just looking at what we have on the Marlies that could make the jump, and really it looks like only McMann out of the bunch has showed he's ready to graduate. Maybe Hirvonen gets a shot if he impresses at camp? But not much beyond them, and of course, Robertson, who, who knows.

Knies and Holmberg should be penciled in, and McMann in for Lafferty who gets a ticket out of town, which saves us around $375k. And if Robertson can stick, then he either rotates in or someone gets bumped via trade. But Lafferty seems like dead man walking to me. No need for him at all.

ROR took the Stamkos pussy path of not wanting to deal with the pressure of playing for this team. I don't think he took one look at Marner and Matthews after he got here and said "losers, I'm out when this is over." I'm sure he knows the Leafs are way better than Nashville and just didn't give a shit about winning a Cup in his hometown. And if it was Keefe that was the reason, all the more proof that ROR is a loser.

One of the reasons I love Tavares so much is that he said fuck the pressure, let's do this. And he's stood strong through all the shit that's happened over the years with early exits, his near-catastrophic injury, and the recent Dubie whirlwind. Fuck guys like ROR and Stamkos who don't want to carry the burden of being a Leaf. Gimme ten more Tavareses, and assuming the other three re-up, them too. It takes guts to be a Leaf, just to put the jersey on and subject yourself to that kind of scrutiny. And the guys who can do it and succeed are honestly special simply because they have that courage to begin with.

They're gonna be dying to get rid of him in Nashville by the halfway point of that contract. He won't finish it there, that I can promise.
