HF? Oof. You either deal with kids there or crazy uncle types here. Poor thing.Don't really care if fighting went away altogether tbh and certainly the code stuff is eye-roll inducing.
But some of the stuff being said about it is just an overreaction. No, it wasn't more upsetting than watching Tavares struggling to stay conscious. No, Foligno isn't a "disgrace to the game" like the Habs fans on HFboards are ranting about. Definitely a silly part of hockey culture though.
They already announced he is out indefinitely with a concussion. And he injured his knee on the hit from chiarotThankfully he’s fine above the neck. I had a feeling he was. Hopefully no concussion symptoms follow now but if he had one I think the symptoms would show immediately. So he’s out because of the knee but that lets him recover surely some soreness in the head area too.
This news should propel the guys to take the series, the exact reverse of how his seeming deadly injury took them out of game 1. I’m feeling good now. Maybe Simmonds will give Perry a slightly less mild back massage tonight and earn a few dollars of that salary finally.
GDT?
The toilet seat on his jersey.on a game note, what makes the Chiarot hit dirty?

I'm not watching it again to dissect it. My initial read on it was that it was a stupid and unnecessary lunge well after Tavares had made his play.
that’s why I’m asking because I also do not want to rewatch that clip... from memory I think the timing of the hit was good, not unnecessary at all if you’re trying to pressure the passer, but it was an awkward angle that resulted in more of a knee on knee than upper body contact. I could see a 2min penalty in the regular season but the NHL is adamant about calling things differently in the post season. Makes no sense to me (as they’re asking GMs to build 2 different types of teams)
Yeah there are varying levels of dirty. I'm not saying it was suspension worthy but it was an illegal play and entirely unnecessary from a player that does a lot of unnecessary things.that’s why I’m asking because I also do not want to rewatch that clip... from memory I think the timing of the hit was good, not unnecessary at all if you’re trying to pressure the passer, but it was an awkward angle that resulted in more of a knee on knee than upper body contact. It was more of a stupid flail and a push on a missed hit that he was never going to be close on, was a bit late, and entirely unnecessary.
With that said, I'm entirely open to the idea that I'm emotionally compromised by the entire incident as a whole and not interested in being objective, nor interested in being polite to anyone attempting to hold me to objectivity here. So it is what it is.
fair enough....
Speaking of compromises, did you experience any side effects with dose numero dos?

for better or worse, the industry handsomely rewards players who play “on the edge” as long as they don’t blatantly cross the line.
The NFL, while way more violent a sport, has developed near zero tolerance for certain acts like hitting a QB below the knee, or leading with the helmet on any tackle.... and they give zero shits about intent or if it’s a playoff game or not... if the ref sees it, he calls it.
