The Motherfucking 2021 Season Thread

Yeah, no point in letting Robertson burn a year of RFA eligibility at this point. And probably no point in letting him burn a year of his ELC if that can be avoided. If it was to play a good chunk of this season with the Leafs, then sure, but not for the last handful of games this season.

And not when we've already got so much forward depth.

Pellerin and Robidas were both directors of player development, and Wikenheiser is assistant director of player development.

Not sure how many directors of player development an organization needs, but maybe they decided one less person in the office frees up some budget for on ice people.

lol, in that clip, Friedge: "I will say that I don't have a full picture of this". He doesn't even know when it happened! and filled with weasel words, 'I believe', 'I think'

what a... hilarious take. I mean I'm sure MLSE has been affected by the pandemic, but the hot take you really want to go with is "Leafs terminate Pellerin because of internal budget cuts". not passing my smell test.

but glad I listened haha.

Yeah, I think Friedman probably should have just gone with “I hear the Leafs are parting ways with one of their directors of player development, Scott Pellerin, but I don’t really know any of the details around the move.”

He’s still be breaking a Leaf-related news story, but without layering his own bullshit around it.

Yeah, these are good points, seems more likely that it's about structure than cost savings to me though.
