The Motherfucking 2021 Season Thread

They don’t seem ready to give up on dermott yet - prob also called stuff that could keep Lilli out. Think Keefe said that a week or two ago that was part of the reason he’s been stuck mostly in the A this year

What? I read this post twice and cannot figure it out.

Galchenyuk yanked off the PP.

Might not bode well for him when Hyman and Nash are healthy.

I'm sure they like Dermott, and they should---he's been solid in a third-pairing role this year.

But I still think he's coming out and Sandin's staying in when Bogosian's back (assuming everyone else is still healthy).

As for Lilly, he's done nothing to hurt his case this year. Played well for the Marlies, and looked really good against the Canucks. But I think he's probably still too far down the depth chart to become a regular season, unless we run into multiple injuries.

Galchenyuk tried his balls off but the reality is...he ain't that good. especially defensively, and this team cares about that now.

Galchenyuk is basically what we hoped Jimmy Vesey would be---a cheap depth forward with size and some offensive ability who will do a decent job when you need to plug him onto the left side of either of our top-2 lines.

But yeah, if you've got too many good forwards and better options for those top-2 lines, he's probably my top pick to come out of the lineup, even if I am generally pretty satisfied with the work he's done since he was acquired.

I'm not a huge rah rah fighting person really but I still don't see what the big deal is. Simmonds asked him to go, he went. If you have a problem with fighting in the league in general, that's fine, but that doesn't make Simmonds a villain here. Fighting is still part of the game and he went pretty easy on him.

Yeah, I mean Hirsch's point may not be entirely wrong, even if I do admittedly get some blood lust when I see one of our players hurt by a cheap shot, and when I did enjoy seeing Simmonds beat up Edler.

Where he goes offside is where, in support of his own argument, he tries to claim the right to speak on Wayne Simmonds' behalf because he apparently coached him at some point. The fact that a talking ass tried to do that, and Simmonds own mother has platform to (politely) tell him he's full of shit and to shut the fuck up is one of the positive parts of social media on display.

And more of Wayne's mom:

I really, really want that to actually be his mother on twitter basically challenging Vancouver twitter to fight her over saying bad shit about Wayne.

Hook that shit right into my veins.

So overblown. It was obvious Wayne went easy on Edler. If anything it was a win win. Edler looks good for standing up to him and so does Simmonds.
