I think many are jumping the gun on this Engvall thing. Keefe and Dubas aren't dumb. He'll be in many, if not most, games.
 
hmm yeah they might keep Dell with the team to avoid losing him on wiavers. meaning lehtonen on the taxi squad.

 
I'll still be surprised if Lehtonen ends up on the taxi squad. I can't see their prize KHL UFA signing being willing to tolerate getting paid a $70K pro-rated AHL salary for too long while he's on the taxi squad.

At the same time, I could see Dubas being spooked about losing Dell after what happened with McElhinney/Pickard, and with a couple of teams having just lost goalie depth at the last minute, with Lundqvist unavailable and Crawford retiring.

After losing 2 goalies last year to waivers, I would rather have Dell secured as #3 then be forced to turn to Hutch

I posted that on the Habs board. Yes we're well aware of the dismal drafting before which is why we always were willing to move our first for proven players. Unfortunately Gainey and then Bergevin weren't. Timmins is overrated. His later round selections aren't that bad as he's found a few good players but the first round has been atrocious. It had gotten better under Shane Churla the past four years but now he's gone to Florida too.
 
I think they could’ve easily included 2017 and called Poehling a bust. He’ll probably be traded or waived by this time next year.

And then you have KK who is flirting with crap status, Caulfield who knows, and Guhle not exactly top tier.
 
Is it only the three players you've drafted that are on your roster now - Kotkaniemi, Lehkonen and Romanov? Or am I missing someone?

Habs always draft middle of round aside from 2 years. That said, I don't exactly look to you for objectivity on the Habs. KK is not flirting with crap status, apparently it's ok for Least prospects to be injured but not Hab prospects. Guhle looks better than I thought and Caufield is what he is, a sniper.

We are jealous that all leaf draft picks are top tier first liners unable to win anything though.
