The New Division

Other than maybe Ekman-Larsson, you make the argument that statisically at least, Phaneuf was the best dman in the NHL last year. He's among the league leaders in almost all major statistical categories (traditional and non traditional stats), excelling in all facets of the game (ES, PP, PK).

He scored on a major you never should have had, and I sure remember this particular can of whoop ass he served up.

Yep, nonfighter mccabe had the balls to stand up to freakshow. Leadership.

All while whupping the sens in yet another laughable playoff rout.

most of his points were on the power play were they not?
a) Google it man, takes 30 seconds.

b) Subban scored only 31.6% of his points at ES. That means 68.4% of his points came on the PP.

That's an absurd split - and hardly worthy of the Norris. He was dominant in special teams last year...that's it.

why do the work when someone else can?

not sure what Subban has to do with the argument unless you are secretly a McCabe lover and are trying to justify your love for him

ES: 8gls, 27pts
PP: 8gls, 26pts
SH: 0gls, 0pts

You must be thinking of his subbanesque ~ppg season in 05-06. But that year mccabe only finished 9th in voting. No body gets more undeserved voting love than habs "stars". Amazing how price and subban get treated, really. Wouldn't happen if they were leafs.

Yeah Subban is just loved in the media :puke:

You are bashing McCabe - yet Subban is very similar, lethal PP shot being fed by Markov (just like McCabe would take feeds from Kaberle).

His god like defense was rendered completely useless as soon as they started calling his can-opener interference move.

Then in an elimination game, he went -5 against the Flyers.

This is so silly.

Nobody takes on Chara for obvious reasons. That's why Chara doesn't have to fight often.

McCabe had balls though. He was tough. And he was very good defenseman in his prime.

Shat all over the Sens every year, dominated for one of the best teams in hockey, and stood up to freakshow.

leadership.

Alfie could learned a thing or two from him.

Nah, it's common for skinny punks to get bad tribal tatted on their arms to make it appear like they lift. If he continues to get thrown around like a wee girl, it will be Lil Wayne tear drop tats on the face next.

Subban could snap him in two.
