The New Division

To me it's the 'or less' comment. It's not approximately 65 points. He's saying maximum 65 points.

This is not rocket science.

Well yeah. He's making a bet, and took the under of course he would say or less. And gave Sens fans an even bigger range down to 63 points. So really unless Karlsson scores less than 63 points he doesn't win. That seems like easy money if you really think he is a ppg guy and pretty fair terms.

This is a pretty odd thing to waste time arguing about.

I don't care if it's random or not. I think he'll put up more than 65 points and mindz thinks he'll max out at 65. Why isn't this bet on?

Because you didn't agree to the terms of my bet. I was the one showing a bit of sack here, willing to make a prediction of a ~65 point season from the impending 1st ballot HOF'er. ****, even at my terms Karlsson only has to score 68 points to win the bet, surely a cake walk for the most impactful player in the league, right?

But instead all I'm getting is whiney bitches.

Whiney bitches....they're everywhere man.

I offered a ****ing lovely bet for anyone who thinks Karlsson is a legitimate PPG defender, and all I'm getting is crying about language technicalities.

Why would he be wrong if Karlsson scored 66 or 67 points though? That would have been far closer to his projection than that being suggested by Sens fans. You are being ridiculously petty and narrow-minded here for no reason.

If you made a prediction of maximum 65 points and he gets 67 points, I'd say your prediction sucked. If you really mean mid 60's don't qualify it with 'or less'. For example, I'm on record saying that I have Karlsson at 70 pts this season. If he gets 68 or 72, then my prediction would be a good one. If I said minimum 70 and he got 68 points, then I'd say my prediction sucked too.

By the way - I will take the bet with you at $50 or $100, with the caveat that Karlsson plays 70 games or more.

I offered a bet, and nobody has taken it as is. I'm done arguing about it. If nobody wants a very favourable bet as it is, then **** off.

Not saying it wasn't close, just saying it was inaccurate. I'm also offering to take the bet on his terms, with the GP caveat.

I said I'll take it. 50 or 100?

Nope. Don't give a **** anymore, it's a prediction and nothing more.

And you didn't say you'd take it, you said you'd take it with a caveat. I've already turned down an offer with a GP ammendment in it.

Not interested in making the bet anymore.

Ya because your terms are stupid. He could get 68 points (which is still amazing) and the bet is a wash. Ties are for losers. Pick a number, over under and be done with it.

Yeah, but in what you're suggesting, he could get 66 and lose even though his prediction was pretty much bang on.

This is now twice in a handful of days that your reading comprehension has sucked. The offer was a +/- of 2. So from 63-67 points was a wash. Anything below was a win for me, anything above was a win for whomever. It was a ****ing gift that I've had nothing but haggling and bullshit over, so I'm not interested in the bet any longer.

I don't know anyone that thinks Kalsson will be a Ppg guy year in and year out.

I think he will perennially lead the league in defensive scoring though.

If he's not PPG, he won't win perennially imo. I can see both Subban and Letang going north of 70 points in their stronger years.

You guys do not understand what makes a prediction valid. If the prediction was 65 points or less, but then he scores 66, his prediction was false.

If he says I think Karlsson will get around 65 points and he gets 67 points, then yeah that's pretty accurate. He's taking everything 65 and below (a wide range). 66 and higher is a much narrower range for a Dman.

If I predict the Leafs to make the playoffs, but come up 1 point short - my prediction would also suck.
