Partly true. He's had bad bad luck (who cuts their hand while cooking and having a foot caught underneath him). So it's not as if he is getting worn down, but rather, it takes him a handful of games to get back from these injuries and back into form.

Hell, in the 2011 season he got lit up HARD in the first 10 games and was lights out from that point forward.

Feel free to include his stats while playing for the Blackhawks a decade ago.

I'd rather focus on his most recent seasons (as per this boards usual method) and his time with Ottawa.

I think your best bet is that Lehner takes the starting job. If you can limit Anderson to ~30 games, I think you have a shot at getting .920+ out of him.

And what happened in April? A recovery from a bad ankle sprain.

The playoffs were lights out too - until he played the leagues best offense.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think a goalie can continue to post the same average as he has done for the past 2 seasons with the Sens.

You're using 2 small samples to make your argument though. Dude was posting .930sv%'s back when he was Vokouns backup in Florida too. Whenever he's been a starter and played a starter's workload, he slots in as an average starter. You even have the 11-12 season that the 2 small samples bookend that give you a good indication of what to expect from a healthy 50+ game Anderson and you're willfully ignoring it.

I'm willing to pursue an over/under bet here. .920%, minimum 50 starts.
 
The problem for the Sens is that even if Anderson is a .925 goalie in full-time duty - and that would make him a Vezina contender, which I believe he clearly is not - that still corresponds to a huge increase in goals (37 according to my calculations).

If he's a .920 goalie they are probably a bubble team without a massive corresponding increase in scoring. If Anderson posts his career average save percentage (.913 to .915) they almost certainly don't qualify for the post-season.

Am I really supposed to feel bad for White? He is big enough, and he runs around agitating and slashing people.

He got fed.

Again, if Cowen didn't cause the injury, who did? It didn't affect him two handing Smith, or chasing after Cowen on the way to the penalty box looking for another serving of STFU either.

He had it coming, and he got slapped around like the bitch he is.
